Standard Au Pair Programm

Das "Standard Au Pair Programm" wird wohl für die meisten Bewerberinnen in Frage kommen und ist das klassische Au Pair Programm für alle, die 500 Stunden an Kinderbetreuungserfahrung durch Praktika, Babysitting, Betreuung in Ferienfreizeiten, als Trainer von Kindersportgruppen oder anhand änlicher Erfahrungen vorweisen können.

Requirements:

  • Are between the ages of 18-26
  • Have at least 500 hours of childcare experience
  • Be able to speak and write conversational English
  • Are willing to commit to 12 months in the United States
  • Have a secondary school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess a driver's license, or be willing to obtain one
  • Optional but recommended: Infant Care experience (= qualified to care for infants ages 3 months to 24 months; Infant Care au pairs have at least 200 hours of verifiable experience caring for children under the age of 2 with children who are not family members)

Program Guidelines and Benefits:

  • Minimum weekly stipend received by Au Pair $195.75
  • Maximum work ours of 45h per week, 10h per day
  • 1.5d off consecutive 2 weeks paid vacation
  • Required to complete 6 semester credits or 72 classroom hours at an accredited postsecondary institution during their program (Host families are required to provide up to $500 towards the au pair’s educational costs.

 

Au Pair Pro Programm

Das "Au Pair Pro Programm" kann man auch als "Professional Programm" bezeichnen.
Es ist für alle Bewerber geeignet, die professionelle Erfahrungen in der Kinderbetreuung haben: abgeschlossene Ausbildung oder zweijährige Vollzeittätigkeit in der Kinderbetreuung als Erzieherin, Heilerziehungspflegerin, Kinderkrankenschwester, Kinder- oder Familienpflegerin, Sozialpägagogin, Sozialassistentin, Grundschullehrerin oder Hebamme.

Standard Requirements:

  • Are between the ages of 18-26
  • Have at least 500 hours of childcare experience
  • Be able to speak and write conversational English
  • Are willing to commit to 12 months in the United States

  • Possess a driver's license, or be willing to obtain one

Additional Requirements:

  • A university degree related to education, child development or a health profession
    At least two years of full-time childcare experience as a nanny, preschool teacher, teacher, nurse or medical professional (or a minimum of 2500h of verifiable experience)
  • Are at least 20 years or older

  • Maximum work ours of 45h per week, 10h per day
  • 1.5d off consecutive
  • 2 weeks paid vacation

TutorCare Au Pair Programm

Das "TutorCare Programm" ist für alle Bewerber gedacht, die weniger Stunden in der Kinderbetreuung arbeiten möchten (ca. 30 Std/ Woche), dafür aber mehr Zeit im College verbringen möchten. Bei der Programmwahl bekommt ihr zwar weniger Taschengeld ($146.81), dafür aber mehr Zuschuss für das College (up to $1000).
